Sister Mary Cuthbert
Margaret Mary Barclay was born on January 4, 1913 in Wilbaux, MT. She attended Wilbaux Rural School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Richardton, ND. She entered Sacred Heart Convent in 1933 and made vows as Sister Mary Cuthbert on June 24, 1935.
Sister Cuthbert studied x-ray at St. John's School of Radiology in Springfield, IL and spent most of her years of service as a lab and x-ray technician. She ministered in St. Thomas Moore Hospital, Cannon City, CO; St. Benedict Hospital, Parkston, SD; St. Michael's Hospital, Tyndall, SD; and Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. She always kept the human touch as an integral part in caring for others with dignity, professionalism and respect.
Sister promoted the profession through very active participation in the SDSRT and encouraged many to become involved and to take responsibility for guiding the profession. She served as secretary/treasurer and vice president and was honored as a Life member in 1978.
Sister Mary Cuthbert Barclay died on September 9, 1987.
